5 Useful & Free Marketing Tools for any business that is just starting out
Online Marketing has become increasingly popular among entrepreneurs, especially in the current context in which not all businesses have returned to normal operations due to the coronavirus pandemic. Online Marketing can help you achieve more profit if you invest in the right channels.
Fortunately, not all online marketing tools require investment, which is why we have made a list of useful, free tools that will help you, among other things, to have a cohesive image in the online environment, to communicate effectively with potential customers, to choose the right topics for content creation and, most importantly, measure the results.
Design
Canva
Over 2 million people use Canva to create images for Social Media, websites, blog posts, brochures, presentations, business cards and more. The free version of this tool gives you access to lots of templates, so you will always have posts that are the right size, but you will also have access to original images and design elements. We often use it for our Organic Social Media accounts and we recommend it with no hesitation.
Email Marketing
2. MailChimp
Email Marketing is one of the most effective marketing channels (and one of our favourites), with a ROI (Return On Investment) of 4400% - which means that for every 1 EUR invested in this channel, you earn back 44 EUR. If you want to read more about this topic, we recommend reading our email marketing guide.
MailChimp is one of the most well-known email marketing service providers in the world, with over 12 million customers worldwide. With MailChimp's free plan you can send up to 2000 emails to the contacts in your database - so it is perfect for start-ups! In addition, if you have an online store, you can connect it with the ecommerce platform you use and this way you can monitor the revenue from your email campaigns.
Social Media Marketing
3. Hootsuite
We believe that you agree with us that Social Media is an important part of advertising any business, regardless of its size, seniority or whether it is a B2B or B2C business.
A tool like Hootsuite will help you schedule your social media posts ahead of time, helping you get better organized and save valuable time. Hootsuite's free plan allows you to manage 3 social media profiles - so you can schedule, for example, posts on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
Content Marketing
4. Google Keyword Planner
This free marketing tool helps you discover the right keywords for your content marketing strategy. You just need to enter a few words relevant to the field of activity of your business and this tool will tell you which keywords to consider.
If you want to know more about this topic, we recommend our Content Marketing Guide.
Results Measurement
5. Google Analytics
Although Google Analytics is a widely used tool around the world, we have also come across entrepreneurs who don't use it and don't measure their website traffic at all.
What we especially appreciate about Google Analytics is the fact that you can see how much traffic each marketing channel brings you, but also the fact that you can find out a lot of information (demographic, geographical, interests) about your page visitors, so you can easily find out which is the real audience of your business and you can update your marketing strategy.
Although there are many free tools in the Digital Marketing space that promise to help your business thrive, not many are worth your time - for this reason, our list only includes tools we have tested, which we recommend with confidence. If you need more such recommendations or our advice in any aspect of marketing, do not hesitate to contact us at hello@marketiu.ro - we would be more than happy to help you!
